The great east Japan earthquake caused enormous damage. More than 18,000 people diedor were missing afterwards. In addition, more than 240 children lost both of their parents,and nearly 1,500 children lost one parent. The global camp community responded quicklyto this tragedy, providing a successful example of an efficient grief camp. Grief Camp forBereaved Children (Under the Partnership of the Global Camp Community) explores thevalue of a grief camp for bereavement support, based on the practices in Japan and thelessons learned from El Tesoro de la Vida, a grief camp of Camp Fire USA First Texas Council.
